Argentina are now sixth in the 10-team South American qualifying group for the World Cup and, crucially, only the top four teams will progress to Russia 2018. "We are more than aware that we have to change a lot," said star player Lionel Messi. "Of all the bad points, the good one is that we depend on ourselves but we can't be giving away any more points."
Tough night for Romero
United goalkeeper Sergio Romero endured a night to forget as Argentina lost 3-0 to historic rivals Brazil in Belo Horizonte. Liverpool midfielder Coutinho, Barcelona star Neymar and Paulinho of Chinese club Guangzhou Evergrande were all among the goals for the men in yellow.
